New blog. Hopefully this stays. I’ll try my best.
Tanglir Falls, Pahang
I suppose there’s a first time for everything.
Yesterday was my first time up to a waterfall with good friends. I am generally not an outdoor-sy person. I do not enjoy trekking, or hiking. Maybe it all boils down to laziness, or maybe I’ve never had the opportunity to trek and/or hike with people who makes these treks and hikes interesting, e.g. friends. The last time I was on a hike/trek, I was in high school. And it was a lousy experience. Fell and fractured my leg. My sense of balance is screwed. That probably turned me off hiking and trekking completely.
I was surprised at myself when I agreed to follow Amos, Nee On and Amelia (very avid trekkers) to Tanglir Falls yesterday. I was at the gym on Thursday night for a pretty hardcore dance class, and my muscles were in agony on Friday. Yet I woke up at 630a.m. on Saturday (which I never do) to prepare for an expected 1-hour trek to Tanglir Falls.
Halfway up to the cascades above the waterfall, I was bitching and whining incessantly to my friends. Are we there yet? How long more? I hear the water, is that the waterfall? etc etc. The trek in was mostly uphill, which I can honestly admit, I have NO stamina. My fitness level is shocking.
However, when I finally reached the cascades, I was in awe. No regrets. I totally forgot about the physical pain as I realized why my friends LOVE doing this. It’s peaceful. Serene. And for the first time in ages, I did not think about work, or anything work-related. No looking at the time and panicking about deadlines. All I wanted to do was to get into the water and just relax.
The water was FREEEEEEZING. But I had fun nontheless
Attempted to go to the waterfalls below, but dark clouds in the afternoon sky and the light rain forced us to turn back and head for the car.
I would like to go back to Tanglir Falls again, and see for myself the waterfall.
And maybe next time, I’d be a little more fit.

I didn’t know you started blogging again. But when I clicked on the link from my site, and got to your blog, I just realised that it’s your first post! It’s a great way to start (or restart) a blog… writing about a trek. Hope you get out into the wild with Amos and Nee On more often.
Cant’s wait to see your pics. Will hop over to Flickr soon.

Thanks!
Unfortunately, the photos from Tanglir not taken by me, all of them were by Nee On but on my camera
Will be sending them to him real soon.
And yeah, would love to go back to Tanglir actually, to check out the waterfall, we didn’t make it all the way in yesterday!
